The Insightful Leader Live: What Are You Getting Into When You Join a Family Business?

Considering whether to join a family-owned enterprise? As an outsider, you may have questions about career development or wonder whether Succession-style dynamics will thwart your ambitions. Or maybe you are drawn to the longer-term thinking and deeper community investment that often characterize family businesses. In this complimentary webinar, Professor Jennifer Pendergast takes us behind the scenes, explaining the good, the bad, and the unusual in this surprisingly large sector of the global economy.

Jennifer M. Pendergast Ph.D is the inaugural John L. Ward Clinical Professor of Family Enterprise and Faculty Director, John L. Ward Center for Family Enterprises at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. In this capacity, Jennifer guides the market leading executive education and MBA programs and the research agenda for John L. Ward Center for Family Enterprises. Previously she served as the U.S. leader of the Egon Zehnder’s Family Business Advisory and a senior consultant with Family Business Consulting Group.
